Do you have a huge report
that you have been procrastinating on and you just can't find enough resources?
Did your teacher assign a ten page report on peanuts, and you can barely
muster out anything? Through my experience, I have found the more search
engines, the better. Here are my favorite ones...good luck!

ones i usually use
http://www.dogpile.com/-
This
is my favorite site to go to when I run out of things to talk about. It
provides "fresh" new web sites to view.*
http://www.msn.com/- This is another great one for "fresh" sites.
http://www.altavista.com/- This is always the search engine I begin my research with. It provides the basics, and the most popular sites. *
http://www.metacrawler.com/- Right after going through the sites on altavista, I look at some of the sites on Metacrawler. It is also a great site.
http://www.infoseek.com/- A great place for seeking info.
http://www.askjeeves.com/- Here you type in a question to ask "Jeeves" and he will answer you. Gives you a mix of all sorta of sites. Good for research!*
http://www.hotbot.com/- This site repeats many of the same sites that altavista provides. I personally like using altavista better. It gets me the information I want.*
http://www.yahoo.com/- Many people like this site although i never use it. There are a lot of subcategories. I don't like how one site leads to another when I try to search with it.
https://www.lycos.com/- This is a very good solid site as well. It repeats much of what is in altavista, hotbot, and yahoo though. DOGPILE at the top o this page is very good.
http://www.metaspider.com/- Smaller site, a little different than the others.
http://www.google.com/- Smaller site, a little different than the others.
http://www.excite.com/- Smaller site, a little different than the others.
http://www.magellan.com/- Smaller site, a little different than the others.
http://www.ananzi.com/-
Smaller site, a little different than the others.

http://www.readshort.com/- This is a GREAT site!!! It includes not only book summaries, but also course material summaries for virtually any course in high school and at the university level. It also helps in preparation for SATs, ACTs, and AP exams.
http://cliffnotes.8m.com/- This site is true to its title. It offers great free cliff notes, especialy for the regular high school student.
http://www.markthis.com/-
This is a great site to BUY cliffnotes. It also offers a relatively narrow
selection.
